Grook is a platformer involving gravity and hooks. Something fishy is going on with which way is down - gravity seems to change direction every time you release the hook.

Controls:
A and D to move left and right, Space to jump (hold for higher jump).
Click and hold to shoot a hook, release the mouse to release the hook.
You can jump to disconnect from the hook, or once in mid-air after you have released it.

This is my first game jam, so I'm super interested in hearing feedback from y'all! I hope it was an interesting concept. I hope it's about the right level of difficulty and it's not too hard to learn.

Game is stuck on instruction screen

Got to the second level, is very hard to understand how to affect the gravity? I thought maybe i could swing whilst hooked but it didnt seem so! BUT it was a great concept, i just think the implementation of it can be improved! keep working on it :D

I like the concept of the gravity shifting, but now my eyes are crossed. I know that the red blocks mess with the gravity, but I don't know how the game decides how to tilt. Maybe the starter level could use less spikes so we can familiarize ourselves with the mechanic without dying so much.

Got stuck in the credits >-<

You weren't kidding about the difficulty. Also I kind of dislike that I have to press R to restart.

I like the concept and the style, but I can't even finish the tutorial :/

Nice concept! Couldn't pass level 2 though. Now my eyes hurt 😂😂

When I first saw you post this in the gamejam-progress, I was super excited. And yeah, this game is awesome. I am horrible at it, but I still love it. I wish the camera was a smoother when you're dangling and I wish I wasn't so bad at 2D platformers so I could swing with the deftness of a coked up Indiana Jones. Great job.

Love the concept, but please, add some motion blur or something, I got nauseous and I don't get nauseous. I did a video including your game in it.

I wasn’t able to move :( I don’t know why is that, but it has happened to me with some other games of this engine. Anybody else with this issue?

Hmm, that's strange. Thanks for letting me know - I haven't run into that problem, but I'll keep an eye out for it.
